LISTEN: The first person on MARS could be South African!

The Mars One project aims to establish a permanent human settlement on Mars by 2024. With over 200 000 initial applications, the Dutch-based venture has whittled down the most recent shortlist to 100. Nick Hamman on 5fm caught up with Adriana Marais, one of four South Africans left on the list.

Africa2Moon was launched with a crowd-funding campaign that raised over $25,000 from Pioneering Donors who will be forever recognized as our Pioneer Crew.

As Phase I of the Africa2Moon project is proportional to funding in it's benefit in the first 2 Prime Directives of Inspire & Educate, fundraising will continue in order to allow us to reach more communities, do more in these communities and bring more people, both professional and public, together to make Africa2Moon truly African and ultimately successful in its objectives.

"One in every nine African University Graduates has migrated to an OECD country (even more to non-OECD countries)."

According to a joint report on global migration released by the United Nations' Department of Economic and Social Affairs, or UN DESA, and the OECD secretariat in 2013, there are about 18.6 million African migrants out of the global total of 232 million migrants.

The emigration rates of highly educated citizens to OECD member countries is a major concern for the developing world.

The Africa2Moon Mission Program is a badly needed project to encourage more scholars into science, to provide a world class project that graduates can work on "at home" and to bring investment, opportunities and skills training to Africa!

A donation to Africa2Moon is a donation towards the long term sustainability of Africa through education.
